Edwin
Male
Born in 2021
Edwin is a gentle and kind-hearted soul who has come a long way on his remarkable journey. His sweet, easygoing nature makes him an absolute joy to be around, and he thrives on affection and care. A true lover of life’s simple pleasures, Edwin enjoys lounging in what he’s claimed as his personal bath or stroller, preferring relaxation over high-energy activities. His calm and undemanding demeanor brings a soothing presence to the dog shelter.
Edwin’s story is one of resilience and transformation. Once a young street dog in poor health, he was rescued while suffering from a blood parasite and severe fur loss. With dedicated care and love from staff and volunteers , Edwin has made an extraordinary recovery. Today, he is the picture of health, carrying a little extra weight that only adds to his endearing charm.
His journey is a testament to the healing power of compassion. Edwin’s quiet, unassuming nature reminds us that sometimes the most understated companions leave the deepest impressions on our hearts.
Though Edwin has participated in training with several volunteers, he approaches it in his own relaxed way. Unlike Creamy, who is bursting with enthusiasm, Edwin prefers to take things slow. He enjoys a few treats, maybe a couple of sits, but mostly he cherishes the chance to simply be with his volunteers. His laid-back personality—so relaxed it’s almost horizontal—has made him a beloved favorite with the volunteers at the sanctuary. Bean

Bean is a spirited little girl bursting with energy and personality. Her determination and courage shine through as she confidently claims her space among the others, proving she’s small but mighty. Bean’s love for people is as boundless as her energy—she thrives on affection and attention, making every moment spent with her full of joy. Her playful jealousy when she isn’t the center of attention only adds to her charm, showcasing her lively and endearing nature.
As Mommy’s daughter and Toast’s sister, Bean’s arrival at the dog shelter was a precious gift, coming into the world as her mom found safety and care. She’s a wonderful reminder of Second Chances commitment to giving every life a chance to thrive.
Bean’s combination of feisty spirit and deep affection makes her truly unforgettable. She’s a delightful little soul who fills every corner of the sanctuary with life and love.
Bean is a training superstar, she has boundless energy, she wants to come out and train constantly, even if she has just come back she pushes at the gate to go again. She can do it all, she’s sweet and loving with the volunteers. Her love of life makes all the volunteers her biggest fan. I hope one day soon a volunteer comes who will take her home with them.

Toast
Male
Born in 2023
Toast is a gentle, endearing soul with a heart full of quiet sweetness. Unlike his spirited sister, Bean, Toast exudes a softer, more cautious nature. He approaches the world with a tender hesitancy, carefully navigating his surroundings as he seeks to find his place among others. His earnest efforts, even when met with challenges, make him all the more lovable, inspiring a deeper level of care and affection.
This incredibly friendly boy thrives on love and attention, soaking up every moment of kindness as if it fuels his spirit. His gentle demeanor and longing for connection are profoundly moving, creating bonds that feel truly special and meaningful.
Born under the dog shelters loving protection as Mommy’s son and Bean’s brother, Toast entered the world surrounded by safety and care. His soft, unassuming presence and tender-heartedness make him a true treasure, a testament to the strength found in vulnerability and the beauty of patience. He reminds us that quiet courage and the transformative power of love can shine just as brightly as boldness.
Lovingly nicknamed “Toasty,” he has shown remarkable progress during training sessions. Unlike his more energetic sister, Toast takes a thoughtful approach, carefully assessing new challenges before committing to them. Initially, the agility equipment, like the A-frame, seemed daunting. But with gentle guidance and encouragement from the volunteers, he quickly mastered it. Once he accomplishes something, he faces it with confidence every time after. It’s as though he enjoys making the volunteers earn his trust, reveling in the interactions and attention they give him.
Toast’s calm, charming nature and quiet determination make him an unforgettable presence, a shining example of the magic that happens when love and trust are nurtured.

NokNoi
Female
Born in 2020
Noknoi is a beacon of sweetness and resilience, with a gentle and affectionate nature that instantly warms hearts. She greets everyone with joy, her energy and agility shining brightly despite having only three legs. Her spirited personality and zest for life make her truly special.
At the sanctuary, she has claimed her own little kingdom—a table in the back—which she proudly guards as her daytime retreat. It’s her happy place, where she feels safe and content, always ready to welcome a friend with her loving presence.
Noknoi’s journey is a testament to her strength. Rescued after a car accident that led to the loss of one of her back legs, she has overcome adversity with grace and courage. Her ability to embrace life so fully despite her challenges is inspiring, and her story is a reminder of the incredible resilience of the heart. Noknoi is a true treasure, bringing joy and love to everyone lucky enough to know her. She should be the poster dog for dogs in shelters all over Thailand.
I love this dog, I shouldn’t have favourites but she’s mine. She wasn’t initially selected for the training, I didn’t spot her as she hid herself away a bit. But she actually volunteered. Every ,morning when I arrived and started taking dogs out she stood there wagging her tail and watching me. So I gave the little tripod a chance. And she took to training like a duck to water. She’s the fastest over the agility course. She loves all the volunteers and all the volunteers love her, it makes me a little jealous. Of all the dogs in Thailand that I have met NokNoi is the only dog that volunteered to take part in training, I hope someone volunteers to take her home, they will never meet a nicer dog.
